The Teatro de la Zarzuela has announced a cast change for its production of “Las Golondrinas.”

The company has announced that Carlos Álvarez will no longer sing the role of Puck and will be replaced by Gerardo Bullón and César Sanmartín.

This is the latest production that Álvarez has canceled in the last month. He previously canceled his participation in the Wiener Staatsoper’s production “Il Trittico.”

“Las Golondrinas” is also set to star Raquel Lojendio, Sofía Esparza, Ketevan Kemoklidze, María Antunez, Jorge Rodríguez Norton, and Javier Castañeda. Juanjo Mena conducts the production y Giancarlo del Monaco.

The production is set to open on Nov. 9 and run through Nov. 19, 2023.
