Teatro de la Maestranza Announces Gala to Celebrate 30th Anniversary
By Nicolas QuirogaThe Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville will celebrate its 30th anniversary on May 2 with a gala concert.
The showcase will feature a cast of singers that includes Carlos Álvarez, Simón Orfila, Xabier Anduaga, José Bros, Ainhoa Arteta, Leonor Bonilla, and Rocío Ignacio, accompanied by the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville (ROSS) and the choir of the AA of the Maestranza under the baton of conductor Juanjo Mena.
Additionally, the company has scheduled a series of events and presentations, including a production of Bizet’s “Carmen” scheduled for May 24, 27, 29, and 30 and June 1, 3, and 5, with Ketevan Kemoklidze in the title role.
The Maestranza was inaugurated on May 2, 1991 and is the work of the architects Aurelio del Pozo and Luis Marín. The Theater is located in Seville, Spain next to the Torre del Oro and the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza, near the Guadalquivir River.
