Teatro Comunale di Bologna Reschedules Performances

The Teatro Comunale di Bologna has announced that it will reschedule performances of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.”

The company announced that the canceled performances scheduled from Feb. 24 through March 1 due to the coronavirus outbreak will be rescheduled for October 2020.

In a press release the Comunale stated that the performances will be rescheduled as follows:

  • Feb. 25 performance will be shown on Oct. 20
  • Feb. 26 performance will be shown on Oct. 27
  • Feb. 27 performance will be shown on Oct. 21

The company has also rescheduled the March 1 concert with Juraj Valčuha and Alexander Gavrylyuk for June 26.

The Teatro Comunale di Bologna closed its theater last week due to the coronavirus following orders from the government. Since its outbreak in Northern Italy, there are more than 1,000 cases reported and 29 dead.

“Madama Butterfly” was set to star Karah Son and Svetlana Kasyan alternating the title role.
