Teatro Comunale di Bologna Names New Chorus Master

The Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Italy has announced a new Chorus Master.

The company revealed that Gea Garatti Ansini will succeed Alberto Malazzi, who will conclude his tenure with the company following the August 12 performance of “La Bohème.”

Anisni has worked with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Teatro di San Carlo di Napoli, and Teatro di Montpellier. Anisni has also worked with the Teatro Comunale on productions of “Un ballo in Maschera” and “The Magic Flute” and toured around Russia, Germany, Thailand, and Japan. She has also collaborated with Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, and Daniele Gatti.

The Teatro Comunale will open its fall season with “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” and will also present a production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” with Kristine Opolais.
