The Teatro Colón de Bogota is set to open Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw” on Sept. 5 and 6, 2019.

The Colombian theater is set to present a production, which won the Opera al Parque competition in 2018 by OPERACIVIL. Ramiro Gutiérrez Castro will direct the acclaimed production with Guerrasim Voronkov conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia.

The cast is set to be announced later this month.

The production is part of the Teatro Colón’s English opera cycle, which will also include Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” starring Monica Danilov and Andres Silva. The Opera al Parque returns this fall with performances by José Cura and a new production of Piazzolla’s “Maria de Buenos Aires,” as well as numerous workshops.
