Teatro Coccia Di Novara Announces 2019-20 Season

The Fondazione Teatro Coccia has announced its 2019-20 season.

Opera

Verdi’s “Ernani” opens the season with Matteo Beltrami conducting a production Pier Francesco Maestrini. The cast is set to include Migran Agadzhanian, Courtney Mills, Enkhbat Amartuvshin, and Simon Orfila.

Performance Dates: Oct. 18 & 20, 2019

A double bill of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” is set to be conducted by Daniele Agiman and directed by Gianmaria Aliverta. Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi will sing the role of Santuzza with tenor Dario Di Vietri, mezzo-soprano Sofio Janelidzeand baritone Sergio Bologna. Marta Mari sings the title role in Puccini’s work.

Pauline Viardot’s “Cendrillon” gets a new production by Teresa Gargano. Michelangelo Rossi conducts the production, which is set to star Julia Farrés.

Performance Dates: Dec. 21 & 22, 2019

Emilio Jonas “Donna di Veleni” makes its world premiere with music by Marco Podda. Vittorio Parisi conducts a production by Alberto Jona.

Performance Dates: Feb. 14 & 16, 2020

Puccini’s “Tosca. Ragazzi, all’Opera!” will be presented with conductor Andreas Gies and a production by Costanza Filaroni. The production will include the children’s chorus from first and secondary di Novara

Performance Dates: March 15, 2020

Rebeka Lokar, Luciano Ganci, and Enkhbat Amartuvshin star in Puccini’s “Tosca” in a production by Renato Bonajuto. Matteo Beltrami conducts.

Performance Dates: April 17 & 19, 2020

Francesco Esposito directs a new production of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” with soloists and a conductor of the AMO del Teatro Coccia.

Performance Date: May 8 & 10, 2020

Concerts 

Matteo Beltrami conducts the orchestra Filarmonica Toscanini and the chorus of the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza in overtures and choruses by Verdi.

Performance Date: Oct. 30, 2019

Clarissa Vichi will perform musical numbers with conductor Giancarlo De Lorenzo and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo.

Performance Date: Nov. 12, 2019

The concerto for San Gaudenzio will see music by Handel, Vivaldi, Gon, and Whitacre performed by Mario Lanaro conducting the Orchestra Gli Archi Italiani and the Chorus I Polifonici Vicentini

Performance Date: Jan. 13, 202

The Orchestra Carlo Coccia di Novara will perform operatic selections with the conductor and soloists from the AMO del Teatro Coccia.
