Teatro Carlo Felice Announces May Schedule

The Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa has announced a slate of concerts in May.

The month will feature four symphonic concerts with conductors Nicola Luisotti, Alexander Lonquich, Donato Renzetti, and Fabio Luisi.

It will also mark the return of opera to the historic theater. Donizett’s “L’Elisir d’Amore” will be performed by members of the Accademia del Teatro Carlo Felice under the leadership of Francesco Meli. Alessandro Cadario conducts the production which will star Patricia Cavalche, Claudia Muschio, Alessandra Rizzini, Nico Franchini, Lorenzo Martelli, Davide Tuscano, Alberto Bonifazio, Nicola Zambon, Francesco Auriemma, Alexander Gabriel Wernick, Giulia Filippi, Gabriella Ingenito, and Roberta Mancuso. Performances will be held on June 10-13, 2021.

The Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice will also perform at the Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza in a concert dedicated to Da Ponte & Friends. The program will include music by Antonio Salieri, Domenico Cimarosa, Stephen Storace, Peter Von Winter, Vincente Martín and Soler, Joseph Weigl,  and Manuel del Pópulo Vicente Rodriguez García. Alvise Casellati conducts with soloists Mariangela Sicilia, Giovanni Sala, and Riccardo Fassi.
