Teatro Carlo Felice Announces Cast Change for ‘Anna Bolena’

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro Carlo Felice has announced a cast change for its Feb. 26 performance of “Anna Bolena.”

The company noted that the title role will be sung by Francesca Tiburzi replacing the originally announced Desirée Rancatore.

The news comes after Angela Meade stepped into the Feb. 19 performance, a day after having opened the production.

Tuburzi recently performed at the Teatro Carlo Felice in a production of “Bianca e Fernando” and in Metz  in the title role of “Madama Butterfly.”

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Alessio Cacciamani, Raffaella Lupinacci, Antonino Siragusa, and Sofia Koberidze. Sesto Quatrini conducts the production.

“Anna Bolena” runs through Feb. 27 with Meade leading the first cast.
