RaiUno has released ratings from the Teatro alla Scala’s opening night concert “A Riveder le Stelle.”

According to the Rai, 2.6 million spectators tuned into the star-studded gala which featured more than 20 soloists and was conducted by Riccardo Chailly and directed by Davide Livermore.

The rating was below the 2019-20 season opening of “Tosca” which obtained a record-breaking viewership of 2.8 million. “Tosca” starred Anna Netrebko, Francesco Meli, and Luca Salsi. Netrebko was absent from this year’s star-studded gala but Meli and Salsi were both part of the opening night.

The rating, however, was above the 2018-19 season opener “Atilla,” which only acquired 1.9 million spectators. Saioa Hernandez and Ildar Abdrazakov headlined that opening night gala.

“A Riveder le Stelle” is still available on-demand on Arte for France and Germany, Medici.TV with a subscription and RaiPlay for Italian audiences.
