Teatro Alla Scala To Livestream Vittorio Grigolo’s Recital

Tenor Vittorio Grigolo will give a recital at the Teatro alla Scala on Feb. 22, 2021.
The tenor will be accompanied by pianist Vincenzo Scalera. Due to the Italian government’s COVID-19 regulations, the recital will be held without live audiences.
The program for the concert includes “Inosservato, penetrava… Angelo casto e bel” from “Il Duca d’alba;” and “Una furtiva lagrima” from “L’Elisir d’amore” by Gaetano Donizetti; “La donna è mobile” from Verdi’s “Rigoletto;” “Ah! leve-toi, soleil!” from Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette;” “Instant charmant… En fermant les yeux” from “Manon,” and “Toute mon âme est là!…Pourquoi me réveiller” from “Werther” by Jules Massenet; “Il lament di Federico” from Cilea; “La fleur que tu m’avais jetée” from Bizet’s “Carmen;” and “E lucevan le stelle” from “Tosca” and “Nessun Dorma” from “Turandot” by Puccini.
In the rest of the program, Grigolo will interpret works by Ruggero Leoncavallo, Ernesto De Curtis, Francesco Paolo Tosti, and Vincenzo D’Annibale.
Vittorio Grigolo recently performed the title roles in Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette” at the Teatro alla Scala, and Massenet’s “Werther” at the Wiener Staatsoper. The tenor is scheduled to return to the stage for the performances of Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” and Verdi’s “La Traviata” at Arena di Verona in August 2021.
The recital will be streamed live on the Teatro alla Scala’s official website, and the company’s Facebook and YouTube channels on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. CET.
