Teatro Alla Scala Previews 2025-26 Season, Starring Sara Jakubiak, Anna Netrebko, Roberto Alagna & Luca Salsi

The Teatro alla Scala has advanced plans for the Teatro alla Scala’s 2025-26 season.

The season will open with Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk” directed by Vasily Barkhatov and Sara Jakubiak. Riccardo Chailly will conduct.

In February 2026, the company will give the entire “Ring Cycle” with Simone Young and Alexander Soddy.

In April, the company will revive “Turandot” in Davide Livermore’s production. Nicola Luisotti conducts a cast that includes Mariangela Sicilia and Roberto Alagna.

Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” will be conducted by Daniele Gatti in a production by Romeo Castellucci and will star Sara Blanch.

In May and June, Anna Netrebko will sing Abigaille in Verdi’s “Nabucco” alongside Francesco Meli, Michele Pertusi, and Luca Salsi. Riccardo Chailly will conduct the new production by Alessandro Talevi.

Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” will be presented in Damiano Michieletto’s production. Myung-Whun Chung conducts.

In July, “Lucia di Lammermoor” will be conducted by Speranza Scapucci and starring Rosa Feola and Pene Pati.

Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’amore” will be performed by students of the Accademia della Scala and conducted by  Marco Alibrando.

“La Traviata” and “Faust” will close the season.
