The Teatro alla Scala has named Pedro Pereira de Sá the new Oboe Soloist.

The 21-year-old currently studies with Professor Ralph van Daal in the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and is also a former student of Jean-Louis Capezzali in the Haute Ecole de Musique HEMU in Lausanne.

The Teatro alla Scala is currently performing a production of “Medée” and is set to perform productions of “Simon Boccanegra” and Die Entführung aus dem Serail,” among others. The company will also perform ballet productions of “Smith/León and Lightfoot/Valastro” and “Madina” as well as concerts with Ingo Metzmacher, Lorenzo Viotti, and Daniele Gatti.
