The Teatro alla Scala has confirmed that two more artists have tested positive for Covid-19.

Due to more employees testing positive, the company has ordered the entire staff of the Teatro alla Scala to work from home.

According to early reports, a young tenor who was a graduate of the company’s Accademia has tested positive, while the second patient, who is part of the Accademia, is a young French dancer.

Last week the Teatro alla Scala announced that one of its chorus member had been infected by the virus and advised all who had contact with the patient to be tested.

The Teatro alla Scala has remained closed for two weeks canceling a number of performances including “Il Trovatore” and “Il Turco in Italia.” This week concerts by Zubin Mehta as well as Ekaterina Semenchuk were canceled. Additionally, the opening of the new production of R. Strauss’ “Salome” was canceled.
