Teatro alla Scala Announces Conductor Change for ‘L’Amore dei tre re.’

The Teatro ala Scala has announced a conductor for its production of “L’Amore dei tre re.”

The company said that Michele Mariotti has withdrawn due to personal issues. As a result, he will be replaced by Pinchas Steinberg.

Steinberg is a well-regarded conductor who has performed at the Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House, San Francisco Opera, Paris Opera, Teatro del’Opera di Roma, Teatro San Carlo, Bayerische Staatsoper, Hamburg State Opera, and Gran Teatre del Liceu. He made his Teatro alla Scala debut in 2010.

He is set to conduct a cast that includes Günther Groissböck, Giorgio Berrugi, Giorgio Misseri, and Chiara Isotton.

“L’Amore dei tre re” opens on Oct. 28 and runs through Nov. 12, 2023.
