Teatro Alighieri Announces 2024 Season

The Teatro Alighieri has announced its 2024 season. Here is a look at the four operas that will be presented.

Monteverdi’s “L’incoronazione di Poppea” will be performed in a new production by Pier Luigi Pizzi. Antonio Greco conducts the Orchestra Monteverdi Festival – Cremona Antiqua with a cast that includes Josè Maria Lo Monaco, Enrico Torre, Federico Domenico Eraldo Sacchi, Chiara Nicastro e Candida Guida.

Performance Dates: Jan. 19 & 21, 2024

Rossini’s “Il Turco in Italia” is set to star Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Bruno Taddia, Giulio Mastrototaro, Francisco Brito, and Francesca Cucuzza.

Roberto Catalano directs the production.

Performance Dates: March 1 & 3, 2024

Puccini’s “Turandot” returns in a production by Giuseppe Frigeni. The cast includes France Dariz, Samuele Simoncini, Vittoria Yeo, Paolo Antognetti, Giacomo Prestia, Fabio Previati, Saverio Pugliese, and Matteo Mezzaro. Marco Guidarini conducts.

Performance Dates: April 12 & 14, 2024
