Tara Erraught & Paula Murrihy Headline Irish National Opera’s 2019-20 Season

The Irish National Opera has announced its 2019-20 season, featuring six productions.

Evangelia Rigaki and Melatu Uche Okorie’s installation opera “This Hostel Life” stars Amy Ní Fhearraigh, Rachel Croash, Andrew Gavin, and Robert McAllister. The work is directed by Caitriona McLaughlin.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-28, 2019

Katie Bray, Jorge Navarro Colorado, Emma Morwood, Sinéad O’Kelly, Russell Harcourt, and Raphaela Mangan star in Vivaldi’s “Giselda” with Peter Whelan conducting and Tom Creed directing.

Performance Dates: Oct. 12-27, 2019

Tara Erraught sings the title role of Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” with Andrew Owens, Riccardo Novaro, Graeme Danby, and David Oštrek and Fergus Sheil conducting.

Performance Dates: Nov. 10-16, 2019

Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” stars Raphaela Mangan, Amy Ní Fhearraigh, Miriam Murphy, Ben McAteer, and Carolyn Dobbin. The opera is set to be conducted Richard Peirson.

Performance Dates: Feb. 8-March 7, 2020

Paula Murrihy sings the title role of Bizet’s “Carmen” with Dinyar Vania as Don José, Milan Siljanov as Escamillo, and Celine Byrne as Micaëla.

Kenneth Montgomery conducts the production with Paul Curran directing.

Performance Dates: March 22-28, 2020

Peter Whelan conducts Caitriona McLaughlin’s production of Mozart’s “The Abduction from the Seraglio” starring Claudia Boyle, Dean Power, Sarah Power, Andrew Gavin, and Wojtek Gierlach.

Performance Dates: May 15-23, 2020
