Tanglewood Festival Announces Cast Change for ‘Götterdämmerung’

The Tanglewood Festival has announced a cast change for its production of “Götterdämmerung.”

The company said, “Unfortunately, bass Morris Robinson has had to withdraw from his scheduled July 20 performance in the role of Hagen in Act III of Wagner’s ‘Götterdämmerung’ due to personal reasons. We are very fortunate that American bass David Leigh is able to sing the role in his place on short notice. There are no other cast changes to announce.”

BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons will conduct.

Leigh is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera  Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. He has performed at teh Santa Fe Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, Santa Fe Opera, and Canadian Opera Company.

He joins a cast that includes Christine Goerke, Amanda Majeski, Michael Weinius, James Rutherford, Diana Newman, Renée Tatum, and Annie Rosen.
