Tanglewood Festival Announces 2020 Digital Festival

The Tanglewood Festival has announced a 2020 digital online festival.

The new festival will offer audio and video showcases including newly created content to be recorded at Tanglewood’s Linde Center in June and July. The series will feature artists and programs of the originally announced 2020 Tanglewood season.

Newly created content will feature such artists as Gil Shaham, Emanuel Ax, Pinchas Zuckerman, Amanda Forsyth, Bryan Wagorn, Augustin Hadelich, Orion Weiss, Yo-Yo Man, Danil Trifonov, and Joshua Bell in Saturday-evening recitals.

Recitals from the world stage will be shown on Wednesdays at different concert venues. Among the artists to be included in the series are Paul Lewis, Lucas and Arthur Jussen, Brooklyn Rider, Silkroad Ensemble, Danish String Quartet, Boston Symphony Chamber Players, and Garrick Ohlsson.

There will also be retrospective online content that has never been made available with performances by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and numerous other artists from around the world. Audio recordings will also be available.

Tanglewood Learning institute video streams will include TLI Masterpass, Master Classes with TMC Fellows, Boston University Tanglewood Institute Students, and Tanglewood Festival Chorus singers taught by Andris Nelsons, Paul Lewis, Midori, Astrid Schween, Dawn Upshaw, and Stephanie Blythe, among others.
