Tamara Wilson & Michael Sumuel Headline Washington Concert Opera’s Annual Gala

The Washington Concert Opera has unveiled its lineup for the fall Gala.

The performance, which is set for Oct. 12, 2022, at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., will star soprano Tamara Wilson and bass-baritone Michael Sumuel.

Wilson is an internationally renowned soprano who has appeared with a number of major companies including the Canadian Opera Company, the English National Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, among many others. Wilson is set to return to the Washington Concert Opera for the first time since her appearance in “Il Corsaro” back in 2014. She currently performing “Tristan und Isolde” at the Santa Fe Opera.

Sumuel, who is performing “Carmen” at Santa Fe Opera, will be making his debut with the Washington Concert Opera in this performance. He has appeared with Seattle Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Los Angeles Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera, among others.
