Tamara Wilson, Anna Pirozzi, Eri Nakamura & Long Long Lead Canadian Opera Company’s 2024-25 Seson

The season opens with Verdi’s “Nabucco” starring Roland Wood, Tamara Wilson, Rihab Chaieb, Matthew Cairns, and Simon Lim. Paolo Carignani conducts the new production by Katherine M. Carter.
Performance Dates: Oct. 4-25, 2024
Long Long sings the title role in Gounod’s “Faust” with Kyle Ketelsen, Kseniia Proshina, Simon Melchlinski, and Megan Latham. Johannes Debus conducts the production by Amy Lane.
Performance Dates: Oct. 1-Nov. 2, 2024
Michael Grandage directs Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Kero-Lynn Wilson conducting. Eri Nakamura, Kang Wang, Hyona Kim, and Michael Sumuel star.
Performance Dates: Jan. 24-Feb. 16, 2025
Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” is set to star Vassily Ladyuk, Lauren Fagan, Evan LeRoy Johnson, and Dimitry Ivashchenko. Speranza Scappucci returns to the COC podium conducting a production by Robert Carsen.
Performance Dates: May 2-24, 2025
Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” will be performed in a one-night only concert presentation. The cast will include tenor Russell Thomas, soprano Anna Pirozzi, mezzo-soprano Deborah Nansteel, and baritone Simone Piazzola. COC Music Director Johannes Debus conducts.

Centre Stage: Ensemble Studio Competition will showcase the new generation of brilliant young singers as they compete for cash prizes and the chance to be invited to the COC Ensemble Studio.
