Taiwan’s National Theater and Concert Hall Unveils Summer 2023 Season

Taiwan’s National Theater and Concert Hall’s (NTCH) summer season has begun. Here’s what audiences have to look forward to.

For the purposes of this article, only vocal performances are listed.

NTCH presents Soprano Lin Ciyin in recital.

Performance Date: June 24, 2023

NTCH will present the concert version of Verdi’s “Aida” Acts one and two starring Lin Ciyin as Aida, Weng Ruoxi as Amneris, Wang Dian plays Radames, Zeng Wenyi as Ramfis, Xie Mingmou as King of Egypt, Chen Hanwei as Amonasro, He Xinping as High Priestess, and Wu Han the Messenger

Lin Tianji conducts the Huagang Symphony Orchestra and Choir of the Department of Music of Chinese Culture University

Performance Date: June 25, 2023

Taipei Century Choir presents a “Nature” Concert.

Performance Date: June 27, 2023

Zhuge Liang showcases “A Promise Never Forgotten.”

Performance Date: June 29-July 7, 2023

NTCH showcases soprano Hsin-Ying Chen in recital singing Robert Schumann Lieder.

Performance Date: July 6, 2023

NSO Opera Concert presents the concert version of “Pelléas et Mélisande” starring Barbara Kozelj as Mélisande, Theo Hoffman as Pelléas, Károly Szemerédy as Golaud, Julian Lo as Arkel, Ting-Yu- Fan as Genevieve, Chueh-Yu Lai as Yniold, Chan-Yu Yeh, as the Doctor and Shepherd, and the Taipei Chamber Singers. Jun Märkl conducts director Jean-Michel Criqui production.

Performance Date: July 8, 2023

The Literary Musical Theater presents “Song of Li Shan.”
Performance Date: July 15-16, 2023
The Yongzhen Charity Night will feature ZERO8 Chorus with Children and Young Children
Performance Date: July 31, 2023
There will be a performance by the Slovenia Lubiana Conservatory Choir.

Performance Date: Aug. 1, 2023

There will be a showcase featuring the UST Singers (The Philippines).

Performance Date: Aug. 2, 2023

There will be a performance with A Capella Boğaziçi (Turkey).

Performance Date: Aug. 3, 2023

“Apocalypse of Beijing Opera” will be on offer.

Performance Date: Aug. 18-20, 2023

Faure’s “Requiem” & Songs by Lili Boulanger will star soprano Lin Linghui and Ding Yixian. Zhang Wenxin accompanies with the National Experimental Choir  and Orchestra of the Music Department of National Taipei University of Education.

Performance Date: Aug 23, 2023

NTCH will stage Puccini’s “La Bohème.”

Performance Date: Aug. 29, 2023

Taiwan University Choir 2023 Summer Tour Concert will present “Quiet Late Night, Missing”
