The Taipei Symphony Orchestra has announced Alexander Liebreich as its new Music Director.
The conductor will serve with the TSO for an initial three-year term starting in 2026.
Regarding his appointment, TSO Director Guo Peiyu said, “Maestro Lieberrich is not only renowned in the international music scene, but also has a passion and new vision for musical interpretation, program planning, international connections, and modern and contemporary repertoire. Most importantly, he and TSO have a deep understanding of cooperation. I look forward to his joining the TSO to create new sparks and lead TSO to new artistic heights, so that the light of urban music will continue to shine.”
Maestro Lieberich is currently the chief conductor of the Orquestra de Valencia in Spain and artistic advisor of the Palau de la Musica Valencia. He has served as chief conductor of internationally renowned orchestras such as the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra.
