OPERA America Awards $135,000 to Support Commissions of Women Composers at Seven Opera Companies

OPERA America has announced the recipients of its 2026 Commissioning Grants from its Opera Grants for Women Composers program. The grants which total $135,000 will promote the development of new work by women-identifying composers and bring visibility to women composers across the field. Opera Praktikos to Present Matinee Performance Series

New York’s first disability-affirmative opera company Opera Praktikos has announced its upcoming matinee performance series. “There Will Be Cake,” is a matinee mono-opera concert series with performances by abled and disabled artists.
