Symphonic Orchestra of the Târgu-Mureş State Philharmonic to Present All-Bach Holiday Concert

The Symphonic Orchestra of the Târgu-Mureş State Philharmonic will present Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio” on Dec. 5, 2024.

The showcase, which will take place at the Palace of Culture, in Targu-Mures, Romania, will feature sopranos Antonia Radneva and Colceriu Alexandra, baritone György Levente, and tenor Stefan von Korch. Cristina László will accompany on harpsichord and conductor Nicolae Moldoveanu will lead the showcase, which also includes two orchestral suites by Bach.

“I am delighted  to return to Târgu-Mureş, and it gives me great pleasure to perform this sacred work that marks a celebration of tradition and the spirit of the holidays, in the six cantatas that tell the story of the Nativity of the Lord. I invite everyone in Targu Mures and the rest of Transylvania to discover or rediscover the beauty and complexity of this concert,” von Korch said in a statement.

The performance kicks off at  7 p.m. local time.
