Sydney Chamber Opera is set to present a revival of Liza Lim‘s first opera, “The Oresteia.”

Performed for the first time since its world premiere in 1993, “The Oresteia” will be performed by Jane Sheldon, Jessica Aszodi, Jessica O’Donoghue, Mitchell Riley, Daniel Szesiong Todd, and Simon Lobelson.

Lim’s “The Oresteia” is an hour-long distillation of the Greek classic. Imara Savage directs the newly adapted libretto by Barrie Kosky. Charles Davis serves as set and costume designer. Alexander Berlage is the lighting designer. Jack Symonds will conduct the new music ensemble, ELISION.

Carriageworks hosts performances from July 24-31.
