Sydney Chamber Opera is set to present “earth.voice.body” at Carriageworks next year.

The company will showcase the new Australian work starting on Sept. 29; it will run through Oct. 5, 2022.

The performance will pair Jack Symonds’ “The Shape of the Earth” with Kaija Saariaho’s “Quatre Instants” and Poulenc’s “La voix humaine.”

“The Shape of the Earth” is a song cycle for male voice, piano, and electronics with text by Pierce Wilcox. Meanwhile “Quatre Instant” is a work originally for solo soprano and piano. It was adapted for orchestral accompaniment in 2002.

Finally, “La Voix Humaine” is a renowned monopera that has been performed all over the world.

Casting for this performance will be announced at a later date.
