SydeBoob Duo, comprised of soprano Anna Elder and flutist Sarah Steranka, is a Brooklyn-based contemporary chamber ensemble redefining the boundaries of modern classical performance. The duo specializes in commissioning and performing works that fuse cutting-edge techniques with the rich traditions of classical music, creating a dialogue between the past and the present.
“Evening Tide” will feature works by Schoenberg, Evan Williams, Berio, Ursula Mamlok, Delgado, Neva Derewetzky, and the premiere of Matthew Greenbaum’s “On Animals.”
The showcase kicks off at 8 p.m. local time.
Elder and Steranka officially founded SydeBoob in 2020, naming their project as an act of reclamation to subvert a term often used to shame women’s bodies, transforming it into a statement of empowerment and liberation.
