Susan Graham Extends LA Opera Contract For Several More Seasons
By David SalazarThe LA Opera has announced that star soprano Susan Graham will be extending her contract with the company as a mentor of the Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artists.
Per a press release, the contract will be extended through the 2020-21 season. Graham has worked as Artistic Advisor with the company since 2017 and is in residence with the LA Opera for at least 10 weeks per season. During this time, she is involved in mentoring young artists and also works with the company’s leadership team to enhance the artistic environment of the LA Opera.
“I’m thrilled to renew my contract with LA Opera—another two years with the honor and privilege of mentoring, coaching, and overseeing development of our fine young singers, of whom I have grown very fond,” Graham said in the press release. “Their talents and enthusiasm are inspiring, and helping them grow as artists is, as any teacher will tell you, greatly satisfying.
“The growth I’ve seen in these individuals and the program is a testament to the company’s investment in young talent. I’m delighted to be a part of this team.”
