Susan Graham, Eun Sun Kim Headline Merola Opera Program’s Online ‘Master Chats’ Series

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, San Francisco’s Merola Opera Program has announced that it will be offering online coaching and instruction for the students of the 2020 program, along with a series of public “master chats” with prominent industry professionals.

The instructors for this year’s program include Lyric Opera of Chicago vocal coach Alan Darling, international director Chuck Hudson, collaborative pianist Martin Katz, San Francisco Opera Italian diction coach, Alessandra Cattani, director Tara Faircloth, Ravinia Festival vocal coach Kevin Murphy, and more.

Merola Artistic Director Sheri Greenawald will be hosting the master chats, which will run from July 8 until July 30, 2020.

Here is a breakdown of the full schedule.

There will be a Master Chat with Susan Graham.

Broadcast Date: July 8, 4:00 pm.

Audiences will get a chance to “Meet the Young Artists.” Moderated by Merola Executive Director Jean Kellogg, this Q&A session is reserved for Merola Members.

Broadcast Date: July 10, 4:00 pm.

There will also be a Master Chat with Francesca Zambello.

Broadcast Date: July 16, 4:00 pm.

David Garrison will lead a Master Chat.

Broadcast Date: July 23, 4:00 pm.

Eun Sun Kim and Gregory Henkel will also headline a Master Chat.

Broadcast Date: July 30, 4:00 pm.
