
Summer Music in City Churches Festival Announces 2025 Slate
By David SalazarLondon’s Summer Music in City Churches Festival is set to take place this June. Here is a rundown of vocal performances on offer.
It opens at St. Giles Cripplegate, Fore Street, with a performance of Fauré’s “Requiem” as well as works by Debussy and Rutter. Hannah Dienes-Williams and Edward Grint are the soloists. Sir John Rutter leads the City of London Choir and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Performance Date: June 18, 2025
Next up, the Corvus Consort under Freddie Crowley performs two interpretations of “Lux Aeterna” by Brittany Bystrom and Morten Lauridsen as well as Duruflé’s “Requiem.” This performance also takes place at St. Giles Cripplegate, Fore Street
Performance Date: June 20, 2025
Verdi’s Requiem, also performed at St. Giles Cripplegate, Fore Street, will get a showcase led by Daniel Hyde. This performance will feature an arrangement of the iconic work by Richard Blackford. Rachel Nicholls, David Junghoon Kim, Claire Barnett-Jones, and Edward Grint are the soloists. The City of London Choir is also participating in the performance.
