The “Ion Dacian” National Operetta and Musical Theatre will present an “Extraordinary Gala” on April 4, 2026.

The showcase will be headlined by soprano Sumi Jo who will performance alongside tenor George Vîrban, a soloist of the theatre and laureate of the inaugural “Sumi Jo” International Singing Competition in France in 2024.

Jo is a world-renowned artist who has performed all around the world at such companies as the Metropolitan Opera and Teatro alla Scala. She is also a Grammy Award winner and Oscar nominee.

Vîrban’s international credits include appearances at the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Palais Garnier, the Metropolitan Opera, Shanghai Grand Theatre, and Lotte Concert Hall Seoul, among others.

The evening will be led by conductor Leonard Boga.
