Styriarte Festival Unveils 2024 Program
By David SalazarThe Graz-based Styriarte Festival has announced its 2024 slate, which takes place from June 21 – July 21, 2024.
Here is a breakdown of the vocal performances.
“Die Macht der Music,” which will feature music by Händel,” will be headlined by soprano Miriam Kutrowatz, tenor Daniel Johannsen, bass Damien Gastl, and the Arnold Schoenberg Chor. Alfredo Bernardini conducts the Zefiro Barockorchester.

Mezzo-soprano Marie-Claude Chappuis will headline a program of music by Schubert and Schumann.
Performance Date: June 22, 2024
For “Monteverdi.Carvaggio,” audiences will hear an ensemble of singers including Emanuela Galli, Agnese Allegra, and Giacomo Schiavo.
Performance Date: June 23, 2024
The Arnold Schoenberg Chor will headline “Heilig, heilig, heilig,” a program of music by Schubert and Bruckner.
Performance Date: June 26, 2024
The company will present “Die Jahreszeiten-Oper” starring soprano Carlotta Colombo.
Performance Date: June 30, 2024
Vocal Ensemble Apollo5 will present “Haven,” a program of music by Smith, Byrd, Whitacre, and McGlynn.
Performance Date: July 1, 2024
Florien Boesch will headline “Alles wieder gut” alongside Musicbanda Franui. The program features works by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, and Purcell.

“Mozart in Stainz” will feature such vocal artists as Miriam Kutrowatz, Marianne Beate Kielland, Daniel Johannsen, and Manuel Winckhler. They are joined by Arnold Schoenberg Chor and the Styriarte Festspiel-Orchester under Jordi Savall.
Performance Date: July 6 & 7, 2024
Valerio Contaldo, Johanna Falkinger, Anna Manske, and Iris Vermillion will headline Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo.” Michael Hell leads the performance and performs the cembalo.

Bruno de Sá joins headlines “Arkadien,” a program featuring music by Scarlatti, Bonocini, and Händel.
Performance Date: July 15, 2024
Tenor Daniel Johannsen stars in “An die Musik,” a program featuring works by Schubert.

Jordi Savall leads La Capella Reial de Catalunya and Le Concert des Nations in “Marienvesper,” which features Monteverdi’s “Vespro della Beata Vergine.
