Stream ‘Carmen’ Starring Elina Garanca, Roberto Alagna From Opéra National de Paris This Week
By David SalazarThe Opéra National de Paris will be streaming a past performance of Bizet’s “Carmen” in a production by Calixto Bieito.
The famed opera will be conducted by Bertrand de Billy with Roberto Alagna as Don José, Elina Garanca in the title role, and Maria Agresta as Micaëla.
The stream is available between April 27 through May 3; only audiences in France can check out the video, which is published in collaboration with France.tv.
This is but the latest of several works that the company is streaming on its official websites. Music lovers can check out the complete Tchaikovsky Symphonies until May 30, the Nureyev ballet “Cinderella” until May 21, “Giselle” until August 5, “Les Indes Galantes” until Oct. 9, and Jean-Stéphane Bron’s “Toward Silence.”
