Strange Trace to Present First Stencils Festival of Short Operatic Works

Strange Trace will present its first annual Stencils Festival, which is set to feature six short works of film opera theater by an international group of composers and librettists.

The festival will last three days with two operas showcased on each night.

First up in the festival will be a double bill of “Music of the Goddess” and “Goliath.” “Music of the Goddess” was created by Shualee Cook and Matt Frey, while “Goliath’s” creator is Florence Anna Maunders.

Next up is Richard Funkhouser and Clifton Ingram’s “A Single Unbending Curve,” paired with Paul Smith’s “The Real Me.

Streaming Date: June 5, 2021

The festival draws to a close with a combination of “The Small Competitor” by Anthony R. Green and Greg Nahabedian’s “October Surprise.”

Streaming Date: June 6, 2021

Audiences will be able to stream the opera via Sparrow Live.
