Stephanie Blythe Leads American Songbook At Lincoln Center

Lincoln Center has announced its new American Songbook taking place from Jan. 22 to Feb. 29, 2020.

Mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe will take the stage in the “Blythely ever after” musical voyage of her testosterone-filled alter ego, tenor Blythely Oratonio. The performance consists of several opera, rock and pop arias. Blythe has been a regular guest on major opera stages, including the Metropolitan Opera House, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Opéra de Paris. She recently showcased her alter ego with Opera Philadelphia.

Performance Date: Jan. 30, 2020

Vocalist and composer Rufus Wainwright will sing the songs that shaped him as an artist. The evening entitled “Songs That Built Me” will be a concert experience created especially for his American Songbook debut.

The 2020 American Songbook will also feature prominent artists such as Tony Award-winning veteran André de Shields, Joe Iconis, Grammy-winning singer and songwriter iLe, Cowboy Junkies, Vocal Ensemble “Roomful of Teeth”, Brandon Victor Dixon, Our Lady J, Natalie Merchant, Kalani Pe’a, Ali Stroker, and famed singer and songwriter Martin Sexton.
