
Staatstheater Kassel Unveils 2026-27 Slate

The Staatstheater Kassel has announced its 2026-27 season.
Here is a look at the vocal performances on offer.
Among the opening productions is a revival of Johann Strauss II’s “Die Fledermaus.”
Premiere Date: Aug. 28, 2026
The season opens with Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer,” conducted by Clemens Fieguth and directed by Florian Lutz and Marlene Pawlak.
Premiere Date: Sept. 19, 2026
Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel” returns to the stage.
Premiere Date: Oct. 2, 2026
Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” is staged by Timofey Kulyabin and conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis.
Premiere Date: Dec. 5, 2026
Antonio Ruz’s “Mozart_Requiem: Selig sind die Toten” is also revived.
Premiere Date: Dec. 18, 2026
“L’elisir d’amore” is directed by Marlene Pawlak and conducted by Kiril Stankow.
Premiere Date: Feb. 13, 2027
“The Fiery Angel” is directed by Frederic Wake-Walker and conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis.
Premiere Date: March 13, 2027
The season concludes with “Uncharted Triptychon,” a work by Alexander Eisenach and Beni Brachtel, conducted by Kiril Stankow and directed by Eisenach.
