Staatstheater Braunschweig Announces 2021-22 Season

The Staatstheater Braunschweig has announced its 2021-22 season featuring concerts, operas, and musical theater.

Here is a breakdown of the vocal and operatic performances.

Srba Dinić conducts Antonín Dvořák’s “Rusalka” in a production by Dirk Schmeding.

Premiere Date: Sept. 25, 2021

Jason Robert Brown’s “The Last Five Years” will be conducted by Johanna Motter and directed by Jessica Schauer.

Premiere Date: Oct. 2, 2021

The season will open with a production of Handel’s “Alcina” in a production by Ben Baur with costumes by Julia K. Berndt.

Premiere Date: Oct. 16, 2021

Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” will be conducted by Srba Dinić and will be directed by Dagmar Schlingmann.

Premiere Date: Dec. 4, 2021

Jake Heggie’s “Dead Man Walking” will get a new production by Florentine Klepper with costumes by Adriane Westerbarkey.

Premiere Date: Jan. 22, 2021

Christoph Diem will direct Stefan Litwin’s “Wie dem Herrn Mockinpott das Leiden ausgetrieben wird.” Alexis Agrafiotis conducts.

Premiere Date: March 5, 2022

Albert Lortzing’s “Der Wildschütz” will be premiere in the spring.

Premiere Date: March 12, 2022

Sidney Corbett’s “Das große Heft” will be directed by Isabel Ostermann.

Premiere Date: May 14, 2022

Concerts

Alexander Joel conducts a program of Korngold, Mahler, and Zemlinsky with soloists Anne Schuldt, and Orhan Yildiz.

Premiere Date: Dec. 12-14, 2021
