Staatsoper Stuttgart to Present ‘A day with Ariadne auf Naxos: In Search of Lost Closeness’

On April 11 the Staatsoper Stuttgart is set to present “A day with Ariadne auf Naxos: In search of lost closeness.”

The interactive day will feature Cornelius Meister conducting the Staatsorchester Stuttgart in Richard Strauss’ “Der Bürger als Edelmann” followed by a live streamed performance of “Ariadne auf Naxos.”

Meister will conduct the famed opera with a cast that includes Simone Schneider, Stefan Vinke, Beate Ritter, Paweł Konik, and Diana Haller.

There will also be a reading of Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Richard Strauss on the genesis of the opera by Harald Schmidt and a virtual foyer where the audience will have the opportunity to meet one other and the artists of the evening.

Additionally, the company will offer a backstage tour on Instagram and a tour by Gabriele Hintermaier and Martin Laiblin in which they tell the history of the Königliche Hoftheater Stuttgart.

The event will begin at 2:30 GMT local time.
