Staatsoper Hamburg Announces Cast Change for ‘Die Entführung aus dem Serail’

The Staatsoper Hamburg has announced a cast change for its the Nov. 13 performance of Mozart’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail.”

The company noted that Thomas Blondelle will take over the role of Belmonte for Dovlet Nurgeldiyev.

Blondelle has performed at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, the Volksoper Wien, the Oper Frankfurt, the Semperoper Dresden, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, and the Théatre Royal de la Monnaie. This season he is set to return to the Semperoper Dresden, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and the Komische Oper Berlin.

The tenor will join a cast that includes Tuuli Takala, Narea Son, Michael Laurenz, and Ante Jerkunica. Péter Halász conducts the production by David Bösch.
