Staatsoper Berlin Announces Queen of The Night for Afternoon Performance of ‘Die Zauberflöte’

The Staatsoper Unter den Linden has announced that coloratura soprano Hila Fahima will perform the role of The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s singspiel “Die Zauberflöte” on Dec. 25, 2021 at 3 p. m. CET.

Fahima joins a cast that includes Peter Sonn as Tamino, Evelin Novak as Pamina, Gyula Orendt as Papageno, and Grigory Shkarupa as Sarastro. The cast also includes Liubov Medvedeva, Florian Hoffmann, David Oštrek, Magnus Dietrich, Anna Samuil, Ema Nikolovska, Marina Prudenskaya, Andrés Moreno García, and Žilvinas Miškinis. Anna Milukova conducts a production by August Everding.

Fahima is a well-known coloratura soprano who has been a member of the ensembles of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Wiener Staatsoper. She has regularly performed the role of the Queen of the Night at both opera houses to a great acclaim.

The evening performance of the opera on Dec. 25 at 7 p. m. CET will feature Caroline Wettergreen in the role of The Queen of the Night.
