
St. Petersburg Conservatory Recruiting Students to Join War in Ukraine

According to the school’s website, an advertisement states that men and women between the ages of 18 and 45 are invited to join the Unmanned Systems Troops with the slogan “Become one of the first drone pilots.”
The advertisement gives a payment plan with first-year salary starting from 6,520,000 ₽ and one-time payment from 4,000,000 ₽. There are also payments for Base military and for destroying enemy weapons and military equipment.
During their service, the conservatory is offering students the option to take an academic leave of absence.
The St. Petersburg Conservatory is Russia’s oldest institution of higher education in music and such alumni include Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Sergei Prokofiev.
