Spotlight Artists Management to Present Benefit Concert to Support Ukraine

By David Salazar

Spotlight Artists Management is set to present a Benefit Concert to Support Ukraine on March 21, 2022.

The showcase, which will take place at St. John’s in the Village will feature performances by pianist Alexander Chaplinskiy; sopranos Zoya Gramagin and Sara Pearson; mezzo-sopranos Eugenia Forteza, Ema Mitrović, and Galina Ivannikova; bass-baritone Jonathan R.Green; and the instrumental duet of Yulia Basis and Andy Didorenko, among others.

“We are happy that even more artists are willing to participate in our initiative. Culture and education – these two realms can save humanity and make people understand each other. We will showcase the music of an array of composers, including Ukrainian and Russian. The recent occasional tendency to ban Russian music here and there is dangerously xenophobic. We stand with Ukrainians and with those brave Russians who dare speak up against the invasion and protest in the streets or media,” said Natalie Burutskaya, producer and artist manager with the company, in an official press statement.

“With this concert, we want to thank our donors. The money we are raising will go directly to the war victims who lost their homes in Kyiv and Kharkiv where I was scheduled to sing Tosca but it is not going to happen due to the war,” added Gramagin.

The performance will feature music from several opera arias as well as the Ukrainian national anthem and “The Great Gate of Kiev” by Mussorgsky.
