Soprano Larisa Martinez to Lead ‘FIESTA!’ Concert

Soprano Larisa Martinez will showcase the power of Latin American classic music during a performance on May 1, 2018.

Entitled “FIESTA!” the concert will feature the noted soprano and four cellists as they traverse the musical landscape of Spain, Brazil, Cuba, and Argentina. Among the pieces showcased will be Piazzolla’s tangos, traditional Spanish pieces from De Falla, a Zarzuela from Lecuona, and a performance of Villa Lobos’ “Bachianas Brasileiras.” The event will take place at On Stage At Kingsborough’s Lighthouse.

Martinez is an opera singer on the rise, renowned for her work in the concert hall, mainly in the works of Mozart and Mahler. A winner of the 2016 Met Opera National Council Audition PR District, she has also appeared in “Voci di Domani” which was presented by legendary soprano Renata Scotto. She also appeared in the 2016 world premiere of Mercadante’s “Francesca da Rimini” under the baton of noted maestro Fabio Luisi.
