Soprano Lana Kos to Star in Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra’s Big Philharmonic Ball 2019

Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra will hold its Big Philharmonic Ball on December 30, 2019 spotlighting soprano Lana Kos.

Kos will perform the arias “Heia, Heia, in der Bergen” from Emmerich Kálmán’s operetta “Die Csárdásfürstin,” “Spiel auf deiner Geige” from Robert Stolz’s operetta “Venus in Seide,” as well as “Vilja Lied” from Franz Lehár’s opera “Die Lustige Witwe.”

Additionally, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra will perform rich program consisting of works by Johan Strauss II, such as Waldmeister-Ouverture and Egyptian March, R. Strauss “Der Rosenkavalier” Suite 59, as well as a popular waltz “An der schönen, blauen Donau” Op. 314 by Johan Strauss II, among others. The concert will be conducted by Maestro David Danzmayr.

Kos international career kicked off when she was but 17 and debuted at the Croatian National Theater in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” as the Queen of the Night. She has so far appeared at the major European operatic stages including the Opera di Genova, Fondazione Petruzzelli in Bari , Royal Opera in Stockholm and Arena di Verona, Teatro Massimo di Palermo,  Teatro di San Carlo,  and Oper Graz, among others. 

Kos is set to be back on stage with roles of Violetta Valéry in “La Traviata” at the Teatro Real de Madrid, Cio-Cio-San in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” at Konzert Theater Bern, and Alice Ford in “Falstaff” at Fondazione Petruzzelli in Bari.
