Soprano Brittany Logan Named Audience Choice Winner of 33rd Annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers

Houston Grand Opera has announced that soprano Brittany Olivia Logan has been named as the Audience Choice winner of the 33rd annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers.

A graduate of California State University and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Logan has appeared in several productions with Cincinnati Opera, and appearances as a soloist with the CCM Philharmonia

Logan will receive a cash prize of $1k, sponsored by Houston Methodist. The first prize for $10k went to countertenor Key’mon W. Murrah, with the second prize of $5k going to tenor Eric Taylor, third prize of $3k to mezzo-soprano Emily Treigle, and the Ana Maria Martinez Encouragement Award for $2k going to tenor Angel Vargas.

The competition, titled “Concert of Arias,” was broadcast as part of the HGO Digital Season, and is available for streaming through March 4 on Marquee.tv, as well as HGO’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
