The Vilar Performing Arts Center has announced the Therese M. Grojean Classical Series.

The performance series is part of a $350,000 gift given by patron Thomas Grojean in memory of his late wife.

“This amazing gift to our Vilar Performing Arts Center is a wonderful expression of Therese and Tom’s shared love of classical music, and a continuation of their many years of support,” said Mike Imhof, President of the Vail Valley Foundation, in a press statement. “We are honored and privileged to be entrusted by Mr. Grojean with this opportunity to bring the greatest classical artists to Beaver Creek, in tribute to Therese.”

The series will feature a number of unique performances with opera fans likely to take particular note of the showcase starring soprano Sonya Yoncheva and pianist Malcolm Martineau. Besides her engagements at the Met Opera in “Don Carlo,” this is the only other venue in the U.S. where Yoncheva will be appearing. That concert is set for March 24, 2022.
