Sonya Yoncheva, Juan Diego Florez, Sabine Devieilhe, Slávka Zámečníková, Elena Villalòn & Matthias Goerne Headline Opéra National de Bordeaux’s 2025-26 Season

The Opéra National de Bordeaux has announced its 2025-26 season. Here are the vocal performances of the season.

Opera

The season opens with Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” starring Gaétan Borg, Jasmine Roy, Scott Emerson, Jeanne Jerosme, Sinan Bertrand, Marion Préïté, Arnaud Masclet, Camille Mesnard, Eva Gentili, Loïc Suberville, Camille Nicolas, Neïma Naouri, Myriana Hatchi, and Joseph De Cange.

Performance Dates: Sept. 24-27, 2025


Hervé Niquet conducts Purcell’s “King Arthur” with Olivia Doray, Robin Tritschler, Cyril Auvity, and Andreas Wolf.

Performance Date: Nov. 4, 2025


Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta” will be conducted by Pierre Dumoussaud and directed by Stéphane Braunschweig. The opera will star Claire Antoine, Ain Anger, Vladislav Chizhov, and Julien Henric.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12-18, 2025


Joé Bertili, Cyrielle Ndjiki Nya, Axelle Fanyo, Jean-Laurent Coëzy, Aviva Manenti, Clément Godart, and Mitesh Khatri will star in “Porgy and Bess Jazz Club.” Salvatore Caputo conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 4-6, 2025


Tito Ceccherini conducts Verdi’s “La Traviata” in Pierre Rambert’s production. The opera will star Slávka Zámečníková, Julien Behr, and Ernesto Petti.

Performance Dates: Jan. 26-Feb. 3, 2026


Oksana Pynchuk, Winona Berry, Arthur Pérot, and Egor Sergeev star in “Lakme Revisted.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 24-26, 2026


Joseph Swensen conducts Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” in a production by Julien Duval. The cast will include Omar Mancini, Elena Villalòn, Julia Knecht, Jean Teitgen, Thomas Dolié, Sofia Kirwan-Baez, and Mathias Vidal.

Performance Dates: March 25-April 2, 2026


Augusta Holmè’s “La Montagne noire” will be conducted by Pierre Dumoussaud and directed by Dominique Pitoiset. The production will star Aude Extrémo, Hélène Carpentier, Marie-Andrée Bouchard-Lesieur, Julien Henric, and Guilhem Worms.

Performance Dates: May 19-25, 2026


“Chantons Roméo et Juliette” will showcase conductor Johanna Boyé leading a production by Laurent Comte. The work will star Yu Shao, Grégoire Mour, Clara Guillon, Annouk Jobic, and Carlos Reynoso.

Concerts 

Joseph Swensen conducts a choral concert featuring Giuseppe Verdi’s Triumphal March from “Aïda” and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5.

Matthias Goerne and Maria João Pires perform Schubert’s “Schwanengesang.”

Performance Date: Oct. 10, 2025


Klara Martel-Laroche and Sungwoo Hwang join forces for the first Midi Musical of the season.

Performance Date: Oct. 15, 2025


Salvatore Caputo conducts a choral concert featuring works from “Eugen Onegin” and soloists Martine Marcuz and Loïc Richard.

Axelle Saint-Cirel and Ismaël Margain will perform another Midi Musical.

Performance Date: Nov. 13, 2025


Salvatore Caputo conducts a conservatory concert with Martin Tembremande and Vanessa Feuillatte.

Sabine Devieilhe and Mathieu Pordoy perform Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, Richard Strauss, Edvard Grieg, Lili Boulanger, Cécile Chaminade, Francis Poulenc, Darius Milhaud, and Édith Piaf.

Performance Date: Jan. 27, 2026


Salvatore Caputo conducts a Viva Verdi concert featuring Lucie Emeraude, Irina Stopina, and Martine Marcuz.

Performance Date: Jan. 29, 2026


Salvatore Caputo conducts “La Traviata Petit Format.”

Performance Date: Feb. 2, 2026


Sonya Yoncheva, joined by Ekaterina Buachidze and Olga Zadorozhniuk, will perform Chopin, Leoncavallo, Delibes, Offenbach, Viardot, and Tosti.

Performance Date: Feb. 5, 2026


Thomas Dolié and Anne Le Bozec perform in recital.

Georges Bizet’s “Djamileh” will be conducted by Salvatore Caputo with soloists Martine Marcuz and Loïc Richard.
