The holiday season is gearing up and two new recordings have been announced by major artists.

First. Belvedere is set to release “Orfée et Euridice” from the Teatro alla Scala with Juan Diego Flórez and Christiane Karg. The production from this past season was conducted by Michelle Mariotti and will mark Flórez’s second recording of the opera. Decca first released a CD version in 2010 alongside Ainhoa Garmendia and the late Jesús López-Cobos. The DVD is set for release Nov. 7, 2018.

The other big DVD set for release will be “Iolanta” and “The Nutcracker” from the Opéra de Paris. The production from 2016 will be released by Bel Air and stars Sonya Yoncheva in the title role, conducted by Alain Altinoglu. The DVD is the latest in Yoncheva’s growing discography. Sony Classical has already released an “Otello” recording, as well as a DVD “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” while Opus Arte recently released her acclaimed “Norma.” Bel Air will release the DVD on Oct. 26, 2018.
