Sonya Yoncheva, Iestyn Davies, Juan Diego Flórez, Lauren Snouffer, Rolando Villazón Headline Salzburg Mozarteum’s 2025 Season

The Salzburg Mozarteum has unveiled its 2025 season. Here is a rundown of the vocal performances on offer.

First up is a program featuring soprano Lauren Snouffer taking on arias by Haydn and Mozart. The program, which will be conducted by Roberto González-Monjas, will also include works by Gluck and Salieri.

Performance Date: Jan. 23, 2025

Michael Shade headlines a concert featuring works by Händel and Mozart. Stefan Gottfried conducts the Concentus Musicus Wien.

Performance Date: Jan. 24, 2025

Ensemble BackWerkVokal Salzburg, under Gordon Safari and director Konstantin Paul, will present Bach’s Coffee Cantata.

Performance Date: Jan. 24 – Feb. 1, 2025

Nikolaus Habjan directs “L’Orfeo.” The opera stars Rolando Villazón, Alice Rossi, Céline Scheen, and Tamara Ivanis, among others. Christina Pluhar conducts Ensemble L’Arpeggiata and Philharmonia Chor Wien.

Performance Date: Jan. 24 – 31, 2025

Ivor Bolton conducts Camerata Salzburg and Bachchor Salzburg in “Das Alexanderfest” by Händel / Mozart. The work stars Louise Alder, Siyabonga Maqungo, and David Soar.

Philippe Brunner directs “La Finta Giardiniera.”

Performance Date: Jan. 26 – Feb. 2, 2025

Jordi Savall conducts Mozart’s C-minor mass with Giulia Bolcato, Elionor Martínez, Lara Morger, David Fischer, and Matthias Winckhler.

Performance Date: Jan. 26, 2025

Rolando Villazón will present a “Serenata Mexicana” for Mozart’s birthday alongside Los Mariachis Negros.

Philippe Herreweghe conducts the Collegium Vocale Gent in several Bach Cantatas. Vocal soloists include Dorothee Mields, Alex Potter, Guy Cutting, and Johannes Kammler.
