Sony Classical Announces Roberto Alagna’s New Album

By Francisco Salazar

Sony Classical has announced Roberto Alagna’s second album for the label.

The company announced that Alagna’s next album entitled “Caruso 1873” will be an homage Enrico Caruso.

Alagna noted, “In 1873 was born Enrico Caruso. A century later, in 1963, it was my turn. Since then, his voice accompanies me. Singers of the past left us a legacy. This recording will perhaps allow younger generations to discover or rediscover this extraordinary artist. So, his flame will shine forever.”

The recording scheduled for release next month will also see the participation of Aleksandra Kurzak and Rafal Siwek under the direction of Yvan Cassar.

Alagna made his Sony Classical debut in an album dedicated to Puccini love duets alongside Kurzak last year. The tenor next appears at the Opéra de Paris for “Don Carlo.”
